GWP Purchases Wind Powered Electrical Energy

Glendale City Council adopted a resolution to purchase 10 megawatts of wind-powered electrical energy over a 16-year term. GWP will enter into the power purchase agreement with PPM Energy, Inc. to use wind-powered electrical energy as a reliable cost-effective renewable resource.  The energy will be produced by wind powered generators located in South Western Wyoming and delivered to Glendale over transmission lines.

The wind-powered electrical energy could power about 3,000 houses on a regular basis. Wind-power electrical energy will be blended with the City’s other electrical energy sources.  Wind power is just one source of the city's renewable electrical generation resources, which include hydro, geothermal and landfill gas.
