Benefits of Using the Analyzer
You may use the Greenhouse Gas Analyzer tool to do the following:
-
Utility (electricity, fuels and renewables)
Calculate the emissions released in your use of energy from Glendale Water & Power or the gas utility which serves your facility. This is
important, as different utilities produce energy with different
mixes of fuel sources and technologies, resulting in different
levels of emissions per kWh for each utility.
-
Refrigeration Systems
Analyze various refrigeration system types in your facility
including chillers, cold storage and other equipment which uses
refrigerants. The results will then be calculated to assess your GHG
emissions by utilizing the recovery efficiency, installations
emission factor, operating emissions, and global warming potential
factor.
-
Highway Vehicles
Analyze the emission from typical highway vehicles such as
company cars, trucks, buses, and employee vehicles that exist in
your company fleet. After your information is entered, the program
will compute the carbon dioxide (CO2), Nitrous Oxide (N2O) and
methane (CH4) emissions caused by the vehicle use being described.
-
Non-Highway Vehicles
You can also determine the emissions created by non highway travel
such as company airline use which can be an overlooked yet important
factor.
-
Waste and Recycling Management
In this category, you can assess the emissions released by
disposing of waste in a landfill or by recycling. If you know the
size and composition of your waste stream you may choose to do a
custom analysis for more accurate results. If you know only basic
information, choose typical analysis and the national averages will
be used as defaults to calculate your emissions.
