GLENDALE, California – Glendale Water & Power (GWP) hosted the China Southern Power Grid Co. (CSG) today at Glendale Water & Power’s administrative offices. The CSG invests, constructs and operates power networks in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan provinces and regions of China. CSG visited GWP to get an appreciation for deployment of the Smart Grid project and see the processes used by a utility that simultaneously installed electric and water Smart Meters.

GLENDALE, California – Glendale Water & Power (GWP) announced today that Ice Energy, a leading green energy company that supplies advanced energy storage solutions to the electric utility industry, is relocating its corporate headquarters and national logistics center to Glendale. The move comes after the successful installation of 1.5 MW of Ice Bear energy storage units as part of GWP’s U.S. Department of Energy supported Smart Grid Project.

GLENDALE, California – For the second year in a row Glendale Water & Power has earned the Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) designation from the American Public Power Association (APPA). GWP is one of 176 public power utilities out of 2,000 nationwide to earn the RP3 designation. The RP3 designation is awarded to those public power utilities that provide customers with the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service.
