GLENDALE, California – Glendale Water & Power (GWP) recently mailed the 2009 Water Quality Report to all customers. This is a report containing information on the quality of water delivered to Glendale customers during 2009.
“The quality of our water continues to exceed all regulatory safety standards, and meets all health requirements”, stated Dan Askenaizer, Glendale Water & Power’s Water Quality manager. “The 2009 Water Quality Report also summarizes Glendale’s recycled water system, conservation activities, our sources of water, and gives customers an overview of contaminates and treatments we use to ensure our water is safe to drink.”
Water sampling and testing is done on a weekly basis to verify its quality and to maintain a safe and healthy water system. Each year thousands of water samples are collected and tested by GWP water system operators and water quality staff. Staff reports the results to the State Health Department on a monthly basis. The report also describes various terms used in describing water quality.
