GLENDALE, California – Glendale Water & Power (GWP) recently mailed the 2012 Water Quality Report to all customers. This report contains important information on the monitoring and maintenance of Glendale’s water quality during 2011.
"The 2012 Water Quality Report assures our community their water continues to meet and exceed requirements set by state and federal safety standards," stated Dan Askenaizer, Glendale Water & Power's Water Quality manager. "The report also focuses on recent capital improvements undertaken to maintain our tanks, wells, and reservoirs to protect and improve water quality, and the installation of over 33,000 Smart Water Meters."
At GWP, the water quality staff conducts thousands of sample tests each year. Water sampling and testing is done on a weekly basis to ensure its quality and to maintain a safe and healthy water system. GWP staff reports the results to the State Health Department on a monthly basis.
