Getting Started With Solar

  1. GWP customer calls (818) 265-5062 for a Smart Home Energy Audit. (Please attach a copy of the first page of the Home Energy and Water use Report with your reservation.)
  2. GWP customer chooses a contractor, identifies system needs, and completes system design for self-installed system or with solar contractor.
  3. Customer or contractor requests or downloads Incentive Reservation Form based on proposed system design.
  4. Customer completes and signs reservation form and two (2) original interconnection agreements, attaches EPBB Calculator Report from http://www.csi-epbb.com, (To obtain the EPBB calculation for Glendale, scroll to SCE utility and put in the zip code. After inputting data you may then multiply the CSI rating x $3.02/watt and/or $3.72/watt). Also attach a shading analysis report. EXCEPTION for Minimal Shading Only: Program administrators may waive the requirement to account for future shade in the expected performance calculations for all solar projects on residential and nonresidential existing buildings on the condition that a copy of a disclosure statement is provided to the building owner and program administrator that identifies existing trees on the building site and adjoining sites that are smaller than 50 feet, which may cast potential future shade that would reduce future system performance.
  5. Upon reservation and Interconnection Agreement approval, customer/contractor calls (818) 548-3921 to begin meter spot check and electrical permit process.
  6. GWP makes incentive determination based on system design and issues Incentive Reservation Confirmation and Claim Form to customer.
  7. Customer obtains necessary permits, and installs and places system into service.
  8. Customer submits completed Reservation Confirmation and Claim Form to GWP with appropriate documentation to receive incentive payment. At customer’s request, the incentive payment may be made payable to the purchaser, retailer, lessee, or lessor of the eligible photovoltaic system.
  9. GWP verifies paperwork and system installation and issues incentive check.
