- GWP customer chooses a contractor, identifies system needs, and completes
system design for self-installed system or with solar contractor. For a list
of pre-qualified contractors click here,
to find a solar installer closest to you search by your zip code.
- Customer or contractor requests or downloads
Solar Solutions Application based on proposed system design.
- Customer submits the following documents to GWP
- Solar Solutions Application - signed by both the installer and customer
- Two (2) original interconnection agreements
- EPBB Calculator Report from http://www.csi-epbb.com,
(To obtain the EPBB calculation for Glendale, scroll to SCE utility and put in the zip code.
After inputting the data you may then multiply the CSI rating by current year incentive rate).
- Shading analysis report for all installations. Program administrators may waive this
requirement on the condition that a copy of a disclosure statement is provided to the
building owner and program administrator that identifies existing trees on the building
site and adjoining sites that are smaller than 50 feet, which may cast potential future
shade that would reduce future system performance.
- Site Diagram-showing the physical relationship of the significant electrical components
of the Generating Facility such as modules, inverters, transformers, and control panels, the
Customer’s loads and the interconnection with GWP’s Distribution System Diagram that must
show the approximate location of all major electric components
- Single Line Diagram-showing the electrical relationship and descriptions of the significant
electrical components such as the primary switchgear, secondary switchboard, protective relays,
transformers, generators, circuit breakers, with operating voltages, capacities, and protective
functions of the Generating Facility, the Customer’s loads, and the interconnection with GWP’s
Distribution System (This can also be submitted after Service Spot Check has completed)
- Singed copy of the purchase agreement
- Data Sheets for inverter and panel
- After customer receives approved Interconnection Agreement, customer/contractor calls (818)
548-3921 to begin meter spot check and electrical permit process.
- Contractor/customer must provide GWP’s Approval and Reservation Letter to the Building
and Safety Department when applying for a building permit. For information in how to obtain
a building permit, call Building and Safety at (818) 548-3200.
- GWP makes incentive determination based on the system design and issues Incentive
Reservation, Payment Information and W-9 Forms to the customer.
- Customer submits the following documents to GWP
- Incentive Reservation Form
- Payment Information Form
- W-9 Form
- Invoice “Paid in Full”
- Proof of 10 Year Warranty
- Copies of zoning, building, and electrical permits
- Handwritten “Miscellaneous” receipt for permits
- Updated EPBB/PBI Calculation Report (If changes were made to the original plan)
- GWP verifies paperwork and system installation and issues incentive check. Customer
will receive a rebate check within 5-6 weeks after submitting all required documents to
GWP program administrator.
Note: Refunds for permit fees will be paid to customers only. At customer’s request, the incentive payment may be made payable to the contractor.
