- February, April, June and August From the Source newsletter focuses on water conservation
- Held six community meetings to discuss upcoming water conservation ordinance
- June 30th, Glendale City Council approved new water conservation ordinance
- July 8, 11 – Conservation advertisements in local newspapers with information on Water Conservation 101 Classes
- Established water waster hotline (818) 550-4426
- Sent letters to all customers in Glendale regarding new water conservation ordinance and conservation tips
- Developed new bill inserts with conservation information
2007 -2008 Water Conservation Outreach
- July 2007 – City Council Approved Phase I of City's Water Conservation Plan
- Plan calls for 10% voluntary water reduction
- July 2007 – Launched Glendale It's Time to Save Water Campaign
- Message – Reduce water usage by 10% or save 20 gallons per person per day
- Monthly presentations at GWP Commission Meetings
- Water Conservation tips in every Source Newsletter and update tips on Website
- Attend community meetings for conservation presentations
- Distributed over 1700 water conservation table tents to 50 restaurants
- Distributed 800 mirror stickers to restaurants, apartment buildings, hotels, and City buildings
- Mailed letters with tips to residential customers, irrigation meters, property management and HOAs
- GWP billing and outreach envelopes carry conservation messages
- GWP bill messages changed every two months
- GWP Fleet have magnetic water conservation messages
- Drought tolerant demonstration garden at Glorietta Park and Monterey Community Garden
- Free residential and professional landscape training classes offered free
- ABC 7 "Jumbotron" will display GWP conservation messages
- Water conservation advertisements in local newspapers
- Developed “How to Read Your Water Meter Brochure”
- Developed bill inserts on conservation and water shortage and mailed to all customers
- Developed Public Service Announcements and aired on GTV 6
