Incentives for Energy Efficient New Construction
Multi-Family Buildings
New construction incentives may include funding to hire energy consultants to
review designs and perform additional energy performance analysis, and to
install energy saving recommendations to bring the project to at least 15% above
the Title 24 standard.
Expected Savings
Incentives for installed energy saving measures will generally be limited to
$0.08 per kWh saved over the life of the measures up to 100% of incremental cost
or $2,000 per unit whichever is less. Technical assistance will generally be
limited to $0.10 per square foot of retrofitted space. GWP estimates that cash
incentives will average $1,500 per dwelling unit.
A Title 24 report or similar documentation will be required to verify kWh
savings for incentive purposes for new construction projects. Maximum incentives
will be determined on a project by project basis in partnership with the City of
Glendale Community Development and
Housing Department.
