Vending Miser Registration

Glendale Water & Power has launched a new FREE program called Vending Miser. Vending Miser reduces energy consumption, costs and greenhouse gas impacts of vending machines. Our vendor will install a small free device known as the VendingMiser® on your vending machines that turns off the machine during extended periods of time when no one is present in the vicinity of the machine, while still keeping food and beverages cold.

A standard refrigerated vending machine consumes approximately 3,500 kilowatt hours (kWh) per year, costing the owner of the machine between $300 and $600 in electricity costs. The VendingMiser® uses proven technologies to reduce energy consumption and costs by an average of 46% by turning off the machine, and still keeping food and beverages cold. That amounts to approximate annual savings of $150 in energy costs per machine.
